It is our pleasure to announce the launch of the permanent online exhibition “Pearls of Wisdom: The Arts of Islam at the University of Michigan,” which is now accessible at:

The online exhibition also hosts a thematic essay that includes a selection of the university’s holdings of architectural photographs shot by Arthur Upham Pope and Donald Wilber. The essay can be found at:


Teaching resources also are provided. These include lesson plans guided to middle and high school students as well as two conservation videos (on Islamic glass and textiles) that are accessible to all audiences:
